Mecca: The General Authority for the Care of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque announced a significant effort in distributing 17,020,216 Iftar meals to visitors of the Two Holy Mosques in collaboration with charitable organizations during the first 21 days of Ramadan. This initiative reflects the authority’s commitment to serving the vast number of visitors during the holy month.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the authority also distributed 17,190,000 packets of dates to visitors. Alongside the meals and dates, there was a continuous supply of Zamzam water to ensure the needs of the visitors were fully met.
During the same period, visitors consumed 27,105 cubic meters of Zamzam water, which is equivalent to approximately 150,614,000 cups or 721,774 bottles. The authority’s efforts were not limited to food and water distribution but also included maintaining the cleanliness of the Two Holy Mosques. A total of 4,529 tons of waste was removed to ensure a safe and healthy environment for all visitors.
