Riyadh: By the ninth day of Dhu Al-Hijjah in the Hajj season 1446 AH, Saudi Arabia’s health sector had delivered over 111,000 health services to pilgrims, reflecting the Kingdom’s commitment to providing high-quality, efficient care in line with the Health Sector Transformation Program and the Pilgrim Experience Program under Vision 2030, aimed at enabling pilgrims to perform their rituals in ease and tranquility.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the Ministry of Health reported that 62,534 pilgrims visited health centers, with 28,524 cases handled by emergency departments and 3,417 patients treated in outpatient clinics. Some 5,136 cases required hospital admission, including 2,350 in intensive care.

Notably, 18 open-heart surgeries and 214 cardiac catheterizations were performed. The ministry efficiently managed 155 cases of heat exhaustion.

The health sector continues its efforts to ensure comprehensive, high-quality healthcare throughout the Hajj season, safeguarding pilgrims’ health and safety and ensuring the efficient and reliable delivery of medical services.
