Hafar Al-Batin: Under the patronage of Governor of Hafar Al-Batin Prince Abdulrahman bin Abdullah bin Faisal, the National Center for Vegetation Cover Development and Combating Desertification (NCVC) has launched the “Grow Impact” initiative. This campaign aims to foster community participation in preserving and expanding vegetation cover while promoting sustainability and environmental awareness across all segments of society.
According to Saudi Press Agency, speaking at the launch event, CEO of the NCVC Dr. Khaled Al-Abdulkader highlighted the initiative’s mission to disperse 60 million seeds and clean floodplains throughout Hafar Al-Batin Governorate. These efforts are part of the broader National Greening Season 2024, which aims to increase green spaces and combat environmental challenges.
Dr. Al-Abdulkader described “Grow Impact” as a transformative step toward achieving sustainable development goals, restoring ecological balance, and enhancing biodiversity. He emphasized that the initiative also serve
s as a call to action, encouraging environmental responsibility among individuals and communities alike.
The initiative further aims to reduce waste in natural areas, protect plant and animal species from harm caused by human activities, and combat desertification by inspiring communities to safeguard natural resources and minimize environmental impact. These goals align with Saudi Arabia’s vision for protecting the planet and its natural heritage.
NCVC continues its mission to develop and protect vegetation cover across the Kingdom. This includes rehabilitating degraded areas, monitoring and addressing violations, combating illegal logging, and overseeing rangelands, forests, and national parks. These actions play a vital role in promoting sustainable development and supporting the objectives of the Saudi Green Initiative.
