MWL Concludes Int’l Forum for the Authentication of Qur’anic Ijazah and Honoring ASEAN Qur’an Reciters in Kuala Lumpur

Kuala lumpur: Secretary-General of the Muslim World League (MWL) and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Al-Issa concluded the International Forum for the Authentication of Qur’anic Ijazah and Honoring ASEAN Qur’an Reciters, with participation from several officials and thousands of male and female Quran memorizers from Southeast Asian countries.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the first-of-its-kind forum was held as part of MWL’s global efforts to serve the Holy Quran. The event aimed to address the shortcomings in the verification of certain Quran licenses, particularly those granted to individuals lacking full proficiency, which are often revealed during public recitations. Additionally, the forum sought to enhance cooperation and integration among specialized institutions and centers in reviewing and certifying Quran licenses, as well as promoting the exchange of expertise among them.

In his address, Sheikh Al-Issa emphasized that by launching this global forum, the MWL is fulfilling its duty in line with its Islamic mission. He highlighted that the licensing process is followed by a verification certificate to ensure authenticity and precision. The standards of the MWL’s Qur’an and Sunnah Service Agency are described as rigorous, drawing their accuracy and oversight from the Global Council of Quran Recitation Scholars. This council, the first of its kind, includes leading reciters from across the Islamic world.
