Malham:The Melwah Racing event begins today at the International Saudi Falcons and Hunting Exhibition 2026, held at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center in Malham, north of Riyadh.
According to Saudi Press Agency, this year's competition consists of 12 rounds, running from October 4 to 9, and features six types of falcon chicks. The races are divided into two categories: owners and amateurs, and elite and professionals.
Participation in the event is restricted to falcon chicks acquired at the International Falcon Breeders Auction, promoting the involvement of farm-bred falcons in the races.
A total of SAR723,000 in prizes is up for grabs, with SAR261,000 allocated for the owners and amateurs category and SAR462,000 for the elite and professionals category. The race tests the speed and responsiveness of the falcons over a 200-meter course.
