Riyadh: The night skies of the Imam Turki bin Abdullah Royal Reserve are witnessing a series of consecutive astronomical phenomena during May 2026, comprising 10 diverse cosmic events. These spectacles highlight the richness of the reserve's natural environment and reinforce its status as a promising destination for astronomy enthusiasts and researchers.

According to Saudi Press Agency, these phenomena began at the start of the month with the full moon on May 1, followed on May 4 by the conjunction of the Moon with the star Antares. Between May 5 and 8, the Eta Aquarids meteor shower was visible, while May 10 marked the last quarter moon.

The new moon will occur on May 16, followed on May 19 by its conjunction with Venus, and on May 20 by its conjunction with Jupiter. On May 23, astronomers will witness two simultaneous events: the Moon's conjunction with the star Regulus and the first quarter moon. The cosmic series will conclude on May 27 with the Moon's conjunction with the star Spica.
