Makkah Route Initiative Enhances Baggage Handling for Turkish Pilgrims

Makkah: The baggage coding service implemented under the Makkah Route Initiative at Istanbul International Airport has contributed to a qualitative transformation in the experience of pilgrims arriving from the Republic of Trkiye through an integrated technological system that links each pilgrim's baggage to their personal data and accommodation in the Kingdom, enabling direct transport without the need for collection upon arrival.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the baggage journey begins the moment it is handed over at the initiative's designated hall, where it is electronically coded and sorted according to precise routing paths. It is then transferred through a fully integrated operational system to designated buses and delivered to pilgrims' residences in Makkah and Madinah in synchronization with their arrival.

A number of pilgrims expressed satisfaction with this service, affirming that it has significantly reduced time and effort and allowed them to proceed directly to their accommodations.

The coding service is one of the initiative's technological solutions, delivered by a specialized Saudi team from Saudi Post (SPL), aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and improving the pilgrim experience, underscoring the continuous advancement of the Hajj services system year after year.

The technological and organizational integration at the initiative's hall in Istanbul reflects the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's care for pilgrims through an advanced operational ecosystem that combines innovation and efficiency, reinforcing a seamless and safe Hajj experience.

The Makkah Route Initiative forms part of the Kingdom's ongoing efforts to elevate services for pilgrims by offering advanced digital solutions that enhance quality and transform the spiritual journey into an experience that begins with technology and concludes with tranquility within the sacred grounds of the Two Holy Mosques.
