Makkah Region Deputy Governor Inspects Hajj and Umrah Halls Complex at King Abdulaziz International Airport

Makkah: Deputy Governor of Makkah Region Prince Saud bin Mishaal bin Abdulaziz inspected the Hajj and Umrah halls complex at King Abdulaziz International Airport, as part of a field tour covering several airport facilities to review the readiness of services provided to pilgrims during the Hajj season 1447 AH.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Prince Saud bin Mishaal was accompanied by Chairman of the Board of Directors of Jeddah Airports Company (JEDCO) Eng. Raed Al-Mudaiheem, CEO of JEDCO Eng. Mazen Johar, along with a number of security and operational leaders. Prince Saud bin Mishaal began his tour with a visit to security checkpoints and inspection procedures. He then reviewed the development project of the Hajj and Umrah halls complex, examining its stages aimed at increasing capacity and improving the quality of services provided to pilgrims.

The deputy governor also inspected the control and operations center at the complex, where he was briefed on crowd management systems and the technologies used to facilitate the movement of pilgrims and Umrah performers. He reviewed the latest electronic gate projects and mechanisms designed to accelerate entry and exit procedures. Moreover, Prince Saud bin Mishaal visited the passport and customs facilities, where he was briefed on procedures designed to expedite the completion of pilgrims' formalities, thereby enhancing efficiency and performance.

He also inspected the waiting halls and service areas, which include air-conditioned lounges and designated zones prepared to receive pilgrims, ensuring their comfort as they are directed to buses bound for the holy sites. At the conclusion of the tour, the Permanent Committee for Hajj and Umrah convened under his chairmanship, with the participation of relevant authorities. The meeting reviewed operational plans and coordination among various entities, and discussed ways further to improve service quality during the current Hajj season.

The tour comes within the keenness of the deputy governor of Makkah Region to follow up on the readiness of the work system at King Abdulaziz International Airport and to elevate the level of services provided to pilgrims.
