Madinah Municipality Enhances Guidance System to Serve Pilgrims During Hajj Season

Madinah: Madinah Municipality has enhanced its guidance and directional signage system across various locations and major roads in Madinah as part of its operational plans for the 1447 AH Hajj season. The initiative aims to facilitate the movement of pilgrims, visitors, and residents, improve quality of life, and enrich the experience of reaching vital and historical landmarks.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the municipality stated that the efforts included installing 105 pedestrian directional signs to facilitate safe movement, 334 hotel numbering signs to help visitors access accommodation facilities, and 344 traffic signs to enhance road safety and improve traffic flow on major roads and thoroughfares.

The work also included installing 150 pedestrian crossing numbering signs to regulate traffic flow, 89 street name signs to improve route clarity, and four vehicle directional signs to support traffic movement.

The system further included four models marking entrances to the Prophet's Mosque parking areas to facilitate entry and exit, four informational models introducing the central area, and four clock models to assist with navigation and time management.

In addition, nine informational panels highlighting historical sites were installed to enrich the religious and cultural experience of pilgrims and visitors to Madinah.

The municipality emphasized that these efforts form part of an integrated system mobilizing all available resources to serve pilgrims during the Hajj season. The initiative reflects the level of attention given to municipal services and supports the objectives of enhancing the urban landscape and quality of life in Madinah.
