Landslides Claim Eight Lives in Eastern Bangladesh

Damascus: At least eight Rohingya refugees, including five children, have been killed in landslides triggered by monsoon rains in eastern Bangladesh. Officials said rainfall and flash flooding caused severe soil erosion on hillside slopes, leading to the collapse of temporary shelters.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Bangladesh Meteorological Department has forecast further rainfall in the coming days. The continuous downpour has raised concerns over the safety of makeshift settlements housing thousands of refugees. Emergency services are on high alert to respond to any further incidents in the region.
