KSrelief’s Masam Project Removes 1,906 Mines in Yemen in April

Riyadh: The 'Masam' project, implemented by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), successfully removed 1,906 mines and unexploded ordnance across Yemen during the third week of April.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the removal included 68 anti-tank mines, nine anti-personnel mines, 1,815 unexploded ordnance items, and 14 improvised explosive devices. The operations spanned various regions, aiming to mitigate the threat posed to civilians by these hidden hazards.

Since the inception of the Masam project, a total of 555,734 mines have been cleared, with 4,545 of them removed in April alone. These mines, indiscriminately planted across Yemeni territories, posed significant risks to the lives of civilians, including children, women, and the elderly.

Through its humanitarian arm, KSrelief, Saudi Arabia continues its commitment to enhancing civilian safety in Yemen. The Masam project is a critical component of these efforts, helping to ensure that the Yemeni people can live in a safer and more dignified environment.
