Riyadh: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) yesterday inaugurated the Al-Hayat School well in the Old Airport area of Al-Mudhaffar District in Taiz Governorate. This initiative is part of a broader project aimed at enhancing the availability of safe and clean water sources in a sustainable manner for the residents of the governorate.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the project involved drilling an artesian well to a depth of 450 meters and equipping it with a comprehensive pumping unit. Additionally, a solar power system was installed, a control room was constructed, and the well was connected to the existing water network. This setup ensures a sustainable water supply by utilizing renewable energy sources, thereby reducing reliance on petroleum products. The project is expected to benefit around 15,000 people in the area.

Taiz Deputy Governor Eng. Rashad Al-Akhal expressed gratitude for KSrelief's significant role in supporting humanitarian, service, and development projects within Taiz. He highlighted that these interventions address the basic needs of the residents, alleviate daily life burdens, and enhance service quality. Al-Akhal further commended the center's efforts in executing the project in accordance with its technical and service specifications.

This initiative reflects the Kingdom's commitment, through KSrelief, to support sustainable water projects in Yemen. Such efforts contribute to improving basic services, increasing water security, enhancing the living conditions of the population, and achieving a lasting humanitarian and developmental impact.
