The Governor of Kirkuk, Rakan Al-Jubouri, discussed with the Director of the Office of the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI) in Kirkuk, Bibi Louvoy, the security and service conditions.
A statement of Kirkuk governor said that reconstruction plans, efforts and implementation of projects for all citizens of Kirkuk were discussed, in addition to the importance of the United Nations and its active role in the files of the reconstruction of the 138 destroyed villages and sub-districts, and the file of the disappeared and abducted, who numbered two thousand disappeared in the region’s prisons from 2003 to 2017.
The importance of the role of the United Nations Mission in supporting efforts to make the electoral process a success, monitoring and following up the efforts of UNAMI, international organizations and United Nations programs in supporting stabilization efforts and the reconstruction of liberated areas, and the importance of its continuation in a way that enhances stability and peace efforts that enhance the successes witnessed by Kirkuk in security, reconstruction and prosperity, was also stressed.
