King Salman Reserve to Introduce Certified Hiking Trails

Tabuk:The King Salman bin Abdulaziz Royal Reserve Development Authority has announced plans to launch 10 hiking trails that have been internationally certified. These trails, spanning approximately 70 kilometers, are designed to allow visitors and adventure seekers to experience the reserve's distinct natural and geographic features.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the trails are distributed across various regions, offering diverse experiences. In Tabuk, the Wadi Al-Dahikiyah trails extend for seven kilometers and are characterized by varied vegetation and terrain, making them ideal for leisurely exploration. The Al-Qalibah trail, at five kilometers, offers hikes through varied terrain and elevated landscapes, while the 3.8-kilometer Jabal Dhab trail provides paths through caves and rocky formations.

The longest trail, Wadi Fajr, stretches 15 kilometers and is known for its scenic vistas and beautiful sunrise views. In the Northern Borders Region, the 2.5-kilometer Jabal Turaif trail offers expansive views, while in Al-Jouf, the 5.8-kilometer Jabal Al-Hisan trail combines historic inscriptions with natural scenery.

This initiative aims to promote sustainable ecotourism and encourage communities to engage with the reserve's natural, heritage, and cultural assets, adhering to the highest international accreditation standards.
