Jazan: The King Salman bin Abdulaziz Royal Reserve Development Authority announced that its regulatory and protection efforts have led to a marked increase in vegetation cover across the reserve, raising the number of recorded plant species to 241, including 44 newly documented species identified within a single year.
According to Saudi Press Agency, in a recent statistical report, the authority stated that the number of registered plant species grew from 197 in 2024 to 241 in 2025, reflecting a rapid recovery of the natural ecosystem.
This achievement supports the reserve's goals of conserving biodiversity and advancing environmental sustainability, in line with Saudi Vision 2030 and the Saudi Green Initiative, contributing to ecosystem restoration and enabling wildlife to thrive within one of the region's largest natural reserves.
