Jubail: The stormwater drainage network developed by the Royal Commission in Jubail Industrial City represents a benchmark in advanced infrastructure. Designed in accordance with international standards and engineered to accommodate rainfall events occurring once every 100 years, the network ensures uninterrupted traffic flow.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the network extends approximately 631 kilometers, providing full coverage across Jubail Industrial City's residential and industrial areas. It comprises around 13,500 surface drainage units, 3,700 lateral drainage units, and nearly 1,000 culverts, serving an estimated 1,600 kilometers of roads.
The system is supported by comprehensive maintenance programs and annual operational plans implemented year-round, in addition to dedicated emergency response plans designed to address rainy weather conditions.
The integration of smart infrastructure with the drainage and traffic management systems reflects the advanced operational readiness of Jubail Industrial City and reinforces its position as a leading model for urban infrastructure in the Kingdom.
