Jordan condemns Israel for allowing extremist break in AlAqsa Mosque

Amman-- The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, on Thursday, condemned Israel for allowing Jewish extremists to break into AlAqsa Mosque/AlHaram AlSharif, under the protection of the Israeli police, according to Jordan News Agency (Petra).

Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Haitham Abu Alfoul stressed that AlAqsa Mosque, with its total area of 144 dunums, is a place of worship for Muslims only, and that the Jerusalem and Aqsa Mosque Affairs Department is the only institution allowed to administer the affairs of AlAqsa Mosque/AlHaram AlSharif and organize entry to the mosque.

He called on Israel, as the occupying power, to stop all violations and actions against AlAqsa Mosque/AlHaram AlSharif, respect the sanctity of the mosque and halt all measures aiming at changes to the legal and historical status quo in the holy city of Jerusalem.
