Jeddah: Attention turns to Jeddah as the city prepares to host the 27th Arabian Gulf Cup (Khaleeji 27) from September 23 to October 6, 2026, marking the first time it has hosted the tournament since its inception in 1970.

According to Saudi Press Agency, hosting the tournament reflects Saudi Arabia's growing presence on the global sports stage and its ability to organize major continental and international competitions. It also comes amid continued support for the Saudi sports sector, which has helped the Kingdom attract and host numerous major sporting events.

Matches will be played at King Abdullah Sports City and Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Sports City, with eight Gulf national teams participating: Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, Iraq, and Yemen.

Jeddah aims to deliver an exceptional edition that showcases the Kingdom's advanced infrastructure and accumulated expertise in hosting major events. The tournament will also highlight the city's readiness to welcome Gulf fans and provide an integrated sporting experience inside and outside the stadiums.
