Jeddah: Jeddah Municipality intensified its field efforts in environmental sanitation, insect surveillance, and public health pest control within its operational plans for the 1447 AH Hajj season as part of the municipal service ecosystem aimed at enhancing public health and raising preventive readiness at sites associated with the movement of pilgrims. The efforts covered pilgrim reception and transportation sites at King Abdulaziz International Airport, the Haramain High-Speed Railway Station in Al-Sulaimaniyah district, and accommodation sites for pilgrims without Hajj permits in Al-Muntazahat district and Huda Al-Sham Road.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the municipality noted that environmental sanitation plans were implemented according to a preventive methodology based on early monitoring and analysis of sites with high operational density through specialized field teams supported by modern equipment and technologies for insect surveillance activities. This contributed to enhancing monitoring efficiency and identifying potential breeding sites for disease-carrying mosquitoes according to approved technical and health standards.
The municipality stressed that these efforts come within its integrated plans to raise public health standards and improve the urban environment during the Hajj season through employing human and technical capabilities in a manner that enhances the quality of preventive services and contributes to providing a healthy and safe environment for pilgrims, residents, and visitors of Jeddah Governorate.
