Islamic Affairs Ministry Sets Guidelines for Quran, Sunnah Contest in Africa

Dakar: The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance has officially approved the regulatory guide for the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Competition for Memorizing the Holy Quran and the Prophetic Sunnah in Africa. This notable event, in its second edition for the year 1447 AH, is scheduled to take place in Dakar from April 23 to 26.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the competition will be managed under the ministry's supervision. The religious attach©'s office at the Saudi Embassy in Senegal will play a significant role, in collaboration with the General Authority for Awqaf and in coordination with Senegal's Ministry of National Education. The event is set to see participation from 100 contestants representing 53 African countries, competing in categories related to the Quran and Sunnah.

The ministry has indicated that the guide provides comprehensive regulations for the judging committees and specifies the evaluation criteria. These criteria cover aspects such as memorization, performance, tajweed, and interpretation, aiming to maintain the highest levels of accuracy and fairness among the contestants. The guide also includes details about the competition schedule and outlines the participants' programs from their arrival until the closing ceremony.
