Jeddah: Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance Sheikh Dr. Abdullatif Al Alsheikh and First Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Religious Affairs of Uzbekistan Maksudov Davronbek signed an executive program for the memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the two entities in the field of Islamic affairs today. The signing ceremony, held in Jeddah, was witnessed by several officials from both sides.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the program activates the MoU originally signed in Jeddah during 1444 AH (2022-2023). It aims to organize scientific and training courses for preachers, orators, imams, and muezzins, focusing on Islamic propagation, Arabic language teaching, and promoting moderation while rejecting extremism and fanaticism.
The program also facilitates coordination for visits by imams from the Two Holy Mosques to Uzbekistan. It includes providing Uzbekistan with publications from the King Fahd Glorious Quran Printing Complex and translations of the meanings of the Holy Quran. Additionally, the initiative covers the exchange of expertise and invitations to Quranic conferences, seminars, and competitions.
Moreover, the program proposes holding a scholarly meeting at the King Fahd Glorious Quran Printing Complex in Madinah. This meeting aims to leverage the Kingdom's experience in serving the Holy Quran and translating its meanings. Furthermore, it includes cooperation in online outreach and the exchange of expertise in audio and visual religious programs.
The minister emphasized that the signing of the program is expected to facilitate the exchange of expertise, dissemination of sound Islamic knowledge, and consolidation of the values of moderation and tolerance, while firmly rejecting extremism and fanaticism.
The signing signifies the ministry's dedication to enhancing international Islamic cooperation, sharing expertise, and promoting the values of moderation, tolerance, and peace.
