In Their First Call, Saudi Crown Prince and Iranian President Discuss The Situation In Gaza

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman received a phone call from Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi, during which they discussed the military escalation in the Gaza Strip and its surroundings.

Mohammed bin Salman confirmed, according to the Saudi News Agency (SPA): “The Kingdom is making possible efforts in communicating with all international and regional parties to stop the ongoing escalation.”

The Crown Prince stressed the Kingdom's position rejecting targeting civilians in any way, and the necessity of observing the principles of international humanitarian law, expressing his deep concern about the seriousness of the humanitarian conditions in the Gaza Strip and the harm to the lives of civilians.

He also affirmed "the Kingdom's firm position towards championing the Palestinian cause and supporting efforts aimed at achieving a comprehensive and just peace that guarantees the Palestinian people's access to their legitimate rights."

This is the first phone call between the two leaders since a Chinese-brokered agreement between Tehran and Riyadh to resume relations last March.”
