Imam Turki bin Abdullah Royal Reserve Prioritizes Ecological Balance in Updated Grazing Regulations

Riyadh: The Imam Turki bin Abdullah Royal Reserve Development Authority confirmed that the updated grazing regulations (version 5.0), recently implemented, build upon the framework established since 2022. The regulations aim to organize grazing activities within the reserve's boundaries, striking a balance between preserving natural resources and enabling the local community to sustainably benefit from them.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the authority stated that grazing is regulated through official permits with specific time and location restrictions, and that the number of livestock per beneficiary is determined by the carrying capacity of the grazing lands. It emphasized that eligibility under these regulations is limited to beneficiaries who meet the requirements by applying through official channels and adhering to the specified standards.

The regulations also prohibit obtaining more than one permit within the same area or moving between multiple grazing sites, ensuring equitable distribution of resources among beneficiaries and promoting balanced utilization. The authority stressed that protecting vegetation cover is a shared responsibility, noting that compliance with the regulations helps preserve natural resources and enhances the sustainability of pastoral activities, which serve as an important economic and social resource for the local community.
