Riyadh: AlUla Governorate hosts a permanent exhibition titled 'Illuminating Discoveries - Uncovering the Layers of Dadan's History,' highlighting the history of the ancient city of Dadan, capital of the Dadan and Lihyan kingdoms. The exhibition presents an informative experience showcasing Dadan's archaeological legacy and civilization, offering a documented narrative that underscores its significance on the regional and global heritage map.

According to Saudi Press Agency, visitors are taken on a chronological journey through daily life, traditional crafts, and ancient beliefs, alongside stone inscriptions and more than 100 artefacts uncovered during recent excavations in Dadan and the Umm Daraj site under the supervision of international scientific missions. Among the exhibits are copper spearheads, statues with a Greek character, and Minaean inscriptions documenting trade activity, reflecting Dadan's role as a hub along ancient trade routes.

The discoveries highlight extensive trade and cultural networks linking northwestern Arabia with Mediterranean civilizations, reinforcing Dadan's status as a prominent heritage site. The exhibition also documents the development of crafts and industries in Dadan since early millennia BCE, including metalwork and textile production, indicating their lasting influence. The Royal Commission for AlUla (RCU) continues efforts to preserve these crafts as part of cultural heritage programs.

The exhibition coincides with World Heritage Day, marked annually on April 18, and aims to raise awareness of safeguarding heritage and promoting cultural tourism.
