Riyadh: The International Conference on Data and AI Capacity Building (ICAN2026) will take place on January 28-29, serving as a unique global platform that brings together experts from more than 50 local and international entities.

According to Saudi Press Agency, participants will explore ways to guide digital transformation to harness data and artificial intelligence (AI) as a developmental force. The discussions will focus on empowering individuals and fostering a more advanced and prosperous future, where humanity benefits from these technologies as they rapidly integrate into daily life.

ICAN2026 does not examine AI merely as a technical tool, but as an international project that begins with skills development and extends to assessing its impact on education, the labor market, and quality of life.

The discussions align with Saudi Vision 2030 and the Kingdom's commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 2030, unveiling three tracks that outline the contours of the next global digital transformation and its impact on people: building national capacities in data and AI, employing data and AI in education, and developing a data- and AI-enabled workforce.

ICAN2026 is organized by the Saudi Data and AI Authority (SDAIA) at King Saud University in Riyadh, with an academic partnership with King Saud University, a knowledge partnership with the Human Capability Development Program, and a strategic partnership with Elm company.
