Makkah: The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (HRSD) enhanced its community and development services during Hajj season 1447 AH through a number of quality initiatives supporting pilgrims in Makkah and the holy sites.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the "Anwarat" initiative saw the participation of more than 3,000 male and female volunteers. These volunteers contributed over 40,000 hours, serving more than 160,000 elderly pilgrims. The initiative also supported approximately 1,500 persons with disabilities, provided more than 2,000 immediate medical services, and conducted 250 guidance and counseling sessions.
The ministry further supervised the participation of more than 4,000 volunteers, who collectively contributed over 70,000 volunteer hours across various service sites. Additionally, HRSD oversaw the operation of 33 child hospitality centers located in Makkah, Madinah, and the holy sites, which received approximately 400 children throughout the Hajj season.
