Hellenic Parliament First Vice President Commends Saudi Arabia’s Regional and International Role

Athens: Vice Speaker of the Shura Council Dr. Mishaal Al-Sulami has met with First Vice President of the Hellenic Parliament Ioannis Plakiotakis in Athens during his official visit to Greece, following an invitation from the vice president of the Hellenic Parliament.

According to Saudi Press Agency, at the beginning of the meeting, the first vice president of the Hellenic Parliament discussed the historical relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Hellenic Republic. He emphasized that the bilateral relationship has become strategic, particularly at the parliamentary level.

He highlighted the importance of parliamentary diplomacy in strengthening the ties between the two friendly countries and supporting each other at all levels. He added that Saudi Arabia is a leading nation with a prominent position in the region and the world, alongside significant developments across various fields. He expressed his desire to continue to develop and strengthen bilateral relations.

The vice speaker of the Shura Council acknowledged the centenary of the establishment of friendly relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Hellenic Republic, which has reached new heights with the creation of the Strategic Partnership Council. The first meeting of this council took place in AlUla last January.

He emphasized that the Shura Council places great importance on enhancing friendly relations with the Hellenic Parliament and activating parliamentary diplomacy through reciprocal visits and parliamentary friendship committees.

The meeting concluded with a discussion of issues of common interest, particularly those related to parliamentary affairs.
