Mecca: The Hajj and Umrah gift association (Hadiyah) launched two innovative initiatives in the holy sites to mitigate the impact of high temperatures on pilgrims and enhance service quality during the 1447 AH Hajj season, as part of its ongoing efforts to enrich the pilgrims' experience.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the first initiative uses misting systems that lower ambient temperatures by up to 10°C in crowded areas. The second focuses on environmental sustainability by providing chilled water in reusable bottles, reducing reliance on single-use plastics, and thereby minimizing waste in the holy sites while also offering pilgrims a practical keepsake from their journey.
