General Authority Enhances Readiness for Muharram’s First Friday at the Grand Mosque

Makkah: The General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque continues implementing its operational and field plans to prepare the Grand Mosque and enhance its readiness to receive worshippers for the first Friday of Muharram. The efforts come amid the large numbers of worshippers, Umrah performers, and visitors at the Grand Mosque, ensuring a suitable spiritual environment for performing prayers and acts of worship with ease and tranquility.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the authority has enhanced the readiness of the Grand Mosque's facilities and courtyards and increased preparedness across prayer areas, passageways, and service locations. It has also intensified cleaning and sanitization operations, maintained prayer carpets, prepared ablution facilities and restrooms, and ensured the readiness of air-conditioning, ventilation, and lighting systems to maintain the highest standards of quality and operational efficiency while accommodating the growing number of worshippers and visitors.

The authority has also intensified its field operations through supervisory and operational teams working around the clock to monitor services and ensure the readiness of all operational sites. These efforts include organizing entry and exit movement, managing crowds, preparing pathways, providing wayfinding services, and strengthening coordination with relevant entities to ensure smooth movement and rapid response, thereby contributing to a safe and well-organized worship environment.
