Riyadh: Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi expressed his strongest condemnation of the heinous Houthi attack targeting Taif Governorate in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with a drone. Falling drone debris claimed the life of one person and injured others, in addition to causing material damage.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Albudaiwi emphasized that the Houthi militia's continued terrorist attacks and repeated targeting of civilian and populated areas in the Kingdom represent a dangerous escalation, an unacceptable disregard for civilian lives and safety, and a flagrant violation of international law and norms.

He stressed that these repeated attacks necessitate a firm and responsible international stance toward these Houthi practices, as well as action to halt them and hold those responsible accountable, thereby ensuring the protection of civilians and preventing continued threats to the region's security and stability.

The secretary-general reiterated the GCC's steadfast position and full solidarity with Saudi Arabia in confronting any threats to its security, stability, and the safety of its territory, citizens, and residents. He affirmed that GCC states stand united with the Kingdom and support all measures it takes to safeguard its security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.
