Manama: Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi met Tuesday in Manama with Director General of the World Green Economy Organisation (WGEO) Abdulrahim Sultan, on the sidelines of the Second Global Water, Energy and Climate Change Congress.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the meeting focused on strengthening cooperation in environmental and climate initiatives. The two officials also reviewed the WGEO’s Global Alliance on Green Economy (GAGE), an initiative aimed at boosting climate action and promoting sustainable development and food security. The GCC secretary-general praised the organization’s efforts and its significant role in advancing the green economy as a key component of sustainable development.
Both sides expressed interest in establishing a new partnership between the GCC and the WGEO to support the environmental goals of GCC member states.
