GCC Secretary-General and European Parliament Delegation Discuss Strengthening Ties

Riyadh: Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Albudaiwi received a delegation from the European Parliament, led by Reinhold Lopatka, in Riyadh today. The meeting focused on the partnership and cooperation between the GCC and the European Parliament, with an aim to serve mutual interests and benefit their peoples, while contributing to the further support of Gulf-European relations.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the discussions included exchanging views on optimal ways and proposals to enhance bilateral relations. Albudaiwi emphasized the GCC states' interest in strengthening ties with regional and international partners to promote development, prosperity, security, and stability. He highlighted that the European Parliament delegation's visit to the General Secretariat bolsters Gulf-European relations and opens broader horizons for cooperation.

At the meeting's conclusion, the two sides addressed the latest regional developments. The European Parliament delegation members expressed their support for the GCC states in response to recent Iranian attacks against them.
