Riyadh: The Secretary-General of the GCC, Jasem Albudaiwi, has expressed his approval for the mediation efforts spearheaded by the Sultanate of Oman, which successfully led to the release of the crew of the “Galaxy Leader” vessel. The vessel had been detained off the coast of Yemen since November 2023, and its crew comprises 25 individuals from different nationalities.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Albudaiwi emphasized that Oman’s mediation underscores its significant role in promoting regional stability and security. He highlighted Oman’s ongoing dedication to fostering regional and international cooperation aimed at enhancing security in the Red Sea area and contributing to the easing of tensions in the region.
