Riyadh: The General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) has released the results of the 2024 Structural Business Statistics report, which includes a set of key indicators highlighting the structural features of the business sector in the Kingdom.

According to Saudi Press Agency, operating revenues recorded an annual increase of 3.9%, reaching SAR5.5 trillion, while total operating expenses amounted to SAR2.367 trillion, up by 9.3%. Compensation of employees totaled SAR588.8 billion, marking an annual growth of 8.1%.

A comparison with 2023 data showed that operating revenues rose across several economic activities, most notably in manufacturing by 7.3%, construction by 9.6%, and wholesale and retail trade by 8.5%.

In terms of operating expenses, notable increases were recorded in mining and quarrying by 23.5%, manufacturing by 9.5%, and construction by 10.7%.

Meanwhile, compensation of employees rose by 9.7% in mining and quarrying, 7.2% in manufacturing, and 10% in construction.

GASTAT noted that the Structural Business Statistics report is issued annually and is considered one of the Kingdom’s key economic reports. It provides detailed indicators that reflect the structure of economic activities and measures operating revenues, expenses, and employee compensation, in addition to a range of other indicators classified according to the national economic activity classification system.
