The French authorities announced the closure of the Eiffel Tower in the center of the capital, Paris, to the public, today, Saturday, after it was evacuated as part of precautionary measures, following a security threat.
And the authority responsible for managing the tower, which is the most prominent tourist attraction in France, stated that visitors were evacuated from three floors and from the square located at the bottom of the tower after a security alert, noting that this is a usual procedure in such situations.
It added that bomb disposal experts and police officers are inspecting the place, including a restaurant located on one of the floors of the tower.
