EU and GCC Officials Discuss Strategic Relations and Regional Security

Brussels: High Representative of the European Union (EU) for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission Kaja Kallas received Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi in Brussels today. During their meeting, the two leaders focused on enhancing strategic relations between the EU and the GCC, as well as exchanging views on the ongoing escalation in the region and its implications.

According to Saudi Press Agency, both parties emphasized the importance of intensifying international efforts to achieve de-escalation, which is crucial for maintaining regional security and stability. They highlighted the security and freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, identifying it as a critical international waterway that is essential for global economic stability and the continuous flow of trade and energy supplies.
