Amsterdam: The Eastern Region Municipality participated in the Geospatial World Forum 2026, held in Amsterdam from April 27 to May 1, as part of efforts to advance digital transformation and adopt geospatial solutions that support sustainable urban development.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the forum is one of the leading global events dedicated to geospatial technologies. It brings together experts, decision-makers, and representatives from government, the private sector, and academia to discuss the latest developments and showcase best practices in leveraging spatial data for urban planning, sustainability, and improved decision-making, contributing to the development of smarter and more efficient cities.
The municipality's delegation reviewed key initiatives and projects in urban planning, smart cities, digital transformation, and crisis and disaster management, along with performance indicators and ongoing development efforts.
The participation reflects the municipality's commitment to Saudi Vision 2030 by adopting advanced digital and geospatial technologies to enhance urban sustainability and efficiency.
