Diriyah, Saudi Contractors Authority to Enhance Contractor Engagement in Diriyah Project

Diriyah: Diriyah Company and the Diriyah Gate Development Authority (DGDA) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Saudi Contractors Authority (SCA) to expand cooperation in ways that support shared goals and strategies in contractor engagement, data exchange, and addressing regulatory challenges in the contracting sector.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the agreement, signed by Diriyah Company and DGDA chief executive Jerry Inzerillo and SCA chairman Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Alajlan, is based on Saudi Vision 2030’s principles of unifying efforts, streamlining procedures, and enhancing institutional accountability to ensure effective project execution and facilitate flexible, sustainable operations that can overcome challenges.

The MoU supports DGDA’s core mission of preserving Diriyah as one of the Kingdom’s most significant historical landmarks and the capital of the First Saudi State. The agreement seeks to highlight Diriyah’s rich architectural, cultural, artistic, and intellectual heritage, coordinating government and private-sector efforts to enhance its role in Saudi Arabia’s cultural and economic development while ensuring effective governance across projects.

As a key party to the agreement, Diriyah Company aims to develop the Diriyah project into a fully integrated, world-class cultural and tourism destination, leveraging a diverse mix of assets including cultural, educational, retail, workplace, and residential developments. The initiative aligns with Saudi Vision 2030, attracting global visitors and contributing to the Kingdom’s gross domestic product (GDP).

The agreement also aligns with the SCA’s objectives of regulating and advancing the contracting sector, empowering its workforce, fostering innovation, and enhancing communication between industry stakeholders. Through this collaboration, the MoU aims to create a high-quality, secure business environment, streamline procedures, and resolve challenges faced by contractors to facilitate efficient and seamless project execution.
