Cultural and Interactive Events Enrich Final Week of Islamic Arts Biennale 2025 in Jeddah

Jeddah: The final week of the second edition of the Islamic Arts Biennale, organized by the Diriyah Biennale Foundation under the theme ‘What Lies Between,’ is currently taking place at the western Hajj terminal of King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah. Running until May 25, the program offers a diverse range of cultural events and interactive experiences, combining dialogue forums, musical performances, and various artistic and educational activities.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the week also includes a three-day cultural symposium, with each day dedicated to a unique theme exploring Islamic arts and their contemporary intersections. The first day, titled ‘Rooted in Place,’ focuses on local projects tied to Islamic cultural heritage across various regions of Saudi Arabia, shedding light on cultural narratives and integration within school and university education systems.

The second day, dubbed ‘Re-evaluating Frameworks,’ examines the role of exhibitions and cultural programs in creating interactive educational environments, while also addressing the impact of artistic spaces and cultural initiatives in shaping innovative knowledge experiences. The final day, ‘Future Possibilities,’ explores the digital horizon and the global role of biennales in expanding the reach of Islamic culture. Specialized panel discussions will address the use of technology in enhancing the appreciation of Islamic arts, along with research and community-driven models aligned with the goals of cultural sustainability.

Among the highlights are two musical performances by Rouh Al Sharq Choir, scheduled for the evenings of Thursday and Friday, May 22 and 23. These performances are set in an artistic atmosphere that celebrates the intersection of musical authenticity and the spirit of the place, as part of activities aimed at enhancing interaction between Islamic arts and various forms of contemporary expression.

The events accompanying the closing week’s program offer interactive food and cooking experiences that highlight the diversity of culinary arts across Islamic cultures, in addition to recreational activities for families and children. These events provide an opportunity for attendees to enjoy a cultural weekend filled with games, prizes, and creative experiences.

All events during the Biennale’s final week are open to the public, with pre-registration available through the official website: https://biennale.org.sa/en.
