Riyadh: Minister of Communications and Information Technology Abdullah Alswaha affirmed that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia continues to build an integrated ecosystem designed to attract global artificial intelligence enterprises and accelerate their worldwide expansion by providing advanced computing capabilities, strategic capital, and direct market access.
According to Saudi Press Agency, Alswaha delivered a keynote address at the Frontier Leaders Forum 2026 in Silicon Valley, under the theme "AI Forward: A Global Frontier." He highlighted the Kingdom's early backing of Groq as an operating model and its plans to replicate that success with other international firms.
Alswaha announced that Saudi Arabia is partnering with the private sector to develop over 14 gigawatts of computing capacity to support advanced AI enterprises, aiming to lower operational costs and maximize infrastructure efficiency. He emphasized national initiatives in areas such as generative, agentic, and physical AI, which include healthcare tools, public-sector virtual assistants, and autonomous logistics systems.
On the sidelines of the forum, Alswaha engaged in high-level discussions to expand strategic investments and integrate advanced models with the computing infrastructure led by HUMAIN. He met with General Catalyst CEO Hemant Taneja to discuss expanding AI investments in Saudi Arabia and enabling portfolio companies to scale applied AI solutions via HUMAIN.
For model development and continuous learning, Alswaha held talks with Arcee AI Founder and CEO Mark McQuade on scaling the Trinity open and enterprise models on national infrastructure. He also discussed advancing contextual learning and continuous memory applications with Engramme Co-founder and CEO Gabriel Kreiman.
In terms of infrastructure and hardware integration, Alswaha met with Supermicro Founder and CEO Charles Liang to accelerate AI factory rollouts using liquid-cooled, high-density server architecture. He further engaged with Upscale AI CEO Barun Kar on high-performance networking interconnects and with Velaura AI Co-founder and CEO Rajiv Khemani on integrating energy-efficient computing technologies into data centers.
These engagements are aimed at advancing the Kingdom's digital economy objectives, reinforcing its position as an international hub for tech innovation, computing power, and applied artificial intelligence.
