Al-Mahra, Yemen-- The Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY) has inaugurated a project to rehabilitate Al-Ghaydah International Airport in Al-Mahra Governorate, Yemen, designed to raise the efficiency of the airport, achieve the highest levels of safety, facilitate access, support social ties and improve the quality of services provided for passengers and airlines, in accordance with the requirements of international navigation systems.

Yemeni Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism Muammar Al-Eryani said that the project achieves the aspirations of the people of Mahra and relieves them of the burden of traveling to areas that are at least 500 kilometers away.

For his part, Assistant General Supervisor of the SDRPY Eng. Hassan Al-Attas, explained during the event that SDRPY conducted tests of air navigation and communication systems, in cooperation with internationally accredited companies, and implemented the necessary air inspection and flight tests procedures.

Eng. Al-Attas stated that the program was keen to provide the airport with baggage equipment, an ambulance with all its medical and emergency needs, and a fire truck whose specifications match the airport safety and firefighting according to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards.

The project includes the rehabilitation of airport buildings and units, and equipping it with navigation systems (R-NAV) and communications that comply with the specifications of ICAO. It also included the runway, control towers, fire, rescue and water unit at the airport, in addition to the integrated lighting for the airport fence.

The project links Yemen locally, regionally and internationally, and provides job and investment opportunities inside the airport, in addition to the necessary training and qualification for Yemeni cadres to use the latest technologies for airports, such as communication systems and modern fire engines.

The project to rehabilitate Al-Ghaydah International Airport is among 207 development projects and initiatives implemented by the SDRPY in various Yemeni governorates to serve the Yemeni people build the capacities of government institutions, in addition to develop programs in seven basic sectors: education, health, water, energy, transportation, agriculture and fisheries.

New York-- The UN Security Council issued a resolution today, designating the Houthi militia as a terrorist group and expanded the ban on the delivery of weapons to Yemen to include all Houthi terrorist affiliates after the arms embargo was previously limited to specific individuals and companies.

The resolution labled, for the first time, the Houthi militia as a "terrorist group", condemning their cross-border terrorist attacks against civilians and civilian infrastructure in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, and demanded immediate measures to stop such attacks.

A total of eleven countries voted in favor of the resolution, while Norway, Mexico, Brazil, and Ireland abstained.

Riyadh--The First Deputy Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic, Arzybek Kozhoshev, and his accompanying delegation arrived in Riyadh yesterday.

They were received by Deputy Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture, Engineer Mansour bin Hilal Al-Mushaiti.

The visit comes within the framework of consolidating relations, enhancing joint cooperation between the two countries, and participating in the Businessmen Forum at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, to be held today.

The First Deputy Prime Minister and his accompanying delegation were briefed on the Kyrgyz exhibition which the Ministry is currently organizing in the Digital City in Riyadh, emanating from its chairmanship of the Saudi side in the Saudi-Kyrgyz Joint Committee.

It is noteworthy that the Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture, Engineer Abdulrahman Al-Fadhli, inaugurated last Thursday the Kyrgyz exhibition in the presence of the Kyrgyz Minister of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Azamat Zhamankulov.

Riyadh, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, patronized today evening the third edition of the "Saudi Cup" race, which is the most expensive in the history of world horse races at King Abdulaziz Equestrian Square in Riyadh.

Upon his arrival, HRH Crown Prince was received by Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Riyadh Region, and Prince Abdullah bin Khalid bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Saudi Ambassador to Austria, member of the Board of Directors of the Horse Races Club.

HRH Crown Prince was accompanied by Prince Muhammed bin Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of Riyadh Region, Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Interior, and Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, Minister of Sports.

After HRH Crown Prince took his place on the main stage, the royal anthem was played.

After that, the horses participating in the race moved from the grooming arena to the parade ground in front of HRH Crown Prince in a two-round show before the start of the race, and all the horse riders participating in the race were present in the parade ground.

Afterwards, the eighth inning of the Saudi Cup began.

After the end of the race, HRH Crown Prince went to the delivery platform, where he was received by Prince Bandar bin Khalid Al-Faisal, Chairman of the Equestrian Authority and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Horse Races Club.

HRH Crown Prince congratulated Prince Saud bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, owner of the Emblem Road, as he lifted the Saudi Cup as the winner of the race.

HRH Crown Prince also congratulated the horse trainer Miteb Al-Mallouh and the horse rider Giberto Ramos, who received a horse model and a horse rider helmet.

Then HRH Crown Prince left the headquarters of King Abdulaziz Equestrian Field.

The Saudi Cup race ceremony was attended by Prince Khalid Al-Faisal, Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Governor of Makkah Region, Prince Abdulrahman Al-Abdullah Al-Faisal, Prince Miteb bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, and a number of princes.

The ceremony was also attended from the Kingdom of Bahrain by Sheikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Supreme Committee of Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club, ministers , distinguished guests of the Saudi Cup ceremony from inside and outside the Kingdom, and a number of participating horse owners.
