Buraidah: Organized by the National Center for Palms and Dates, the Buraidah International Date Carnival opened today south of Buraidah city, drawing strong turnout from farmers, traders, and importers. The event runs through October 14. According to Saudi Press Agency, the carnival is one of the largest date markets globally and holds a Guinness World Record. The event attracts participants and visitors from both inside and outside the Kingdom, highlighting its international appeal. The carnival underscores the Qassim Region's prominence in the palm and date industry. The region boasts nearly 11 million palm trees, producing approximately 578,000 tons annually. This sector plays a significant role in the local economy, generating SAR3.2 billion in economic returns and creating over 4,000 jobs.
