Northern borders region: The Northern Borders Region witnessed a rare sighting of a black-headed gull (Larus ridibundus) amid the bird migration season.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the black-headed gull is a social species that frequently gathers in groups and is highly adaptable to a variety of environments, from bodies of water to open landscapes. By feeding on fish, insects, and other small creatures, it plays a vital role in maintaining ecological balance.

Member of the Aman Environmental Association Adnan Khalifa noted the presence of this species reflects both abundant food sources and favorable climate, emphasizing Northern Borders Region's importance as a safe stopover for migratory birds.
