Aseer: Aseer Police, along with the Aseer Environmental Security Special Forces, have apprehended Hussein Dhafer Hussein Al-Qahtani for the illegal hunting of an endangered wild animal, the ibex. During the arrest, authorities seized a pistol, 20 rounds of various types of ammunition, and four trapped wild animals from his possession. Legal procedures have been initiated, and Al-Qahtani has been referred to the competent authorities for further action.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Public Security has emphasized the necessity of adhering to environmental laws and regulations, which strictly prohibit the hunting of wild animals. The penalties for such violations are significant, with fines for hunting an ibex set at SAR60,000. Additionally, hunting without a license incurs a SAR10,000 fine, and hunting in prohibited areas results in a SAR5,000 fine.

Public Security has also called upon the public to report any environmental or wildlife violations. Reports can be made by calling 911 in the regions of Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, and the Eastern regions, while 999 or 996 can be contacted in other regions of the Kingdom. They assure that all reports are treated with complete confidentiality, ensuring no liability for the individual reporting the violations.
