Arab League Welcomes Norwegian Decision to Boycott Products from Israeli Settlements

The Arab League welcomed Norway's decision to boycott products and services of companies involved directly or indirectly in supporting Israel's settlements.

Saeed Abu Ali, the Assistant Secretary General, President of the Palestinian Sector and Occupied Arab Territories, stated today that the decision of the Norwegian government is a continuation of its positive decision released in June 2022, when it said products exported from Israel to Norway must have a label showing that the products are exported from Israelis' settlements in the occupied Palestinians territories including East Jerusalem and Golan Heights.

Abu Ali called on other countries to boycott exports from Israeli settlements, as the occupation constitutes a grave violation of international law and legitimacy, especially under UN Security Council Resolution 2334. He emphasized the need to confront aggressive racist settlement plans and practices. He also stressed the need to implement the resolutions of international legitimacy and apply the principles of international law to end the occupation, which would enable the Palestinian people to exercise their rights to freedom and independence.
