Cairo: The 164th ordinary session of the Council of the Arab League at the level of permanent representatives commenced at the Arab League General Secretariat headquarters in Cairo. This meeting serves as a preparatory event for the forthcoming gathering of Arab foreign ministers scheduled for later in the week.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the session was chaired by the United Arab Emirates and attended by Arab League Assistant Secretary-General Ambassador Hossam Zaki. The Kingdom’s delegation at the meeting was led by Permanent Representative to the League of Arab States, Ambassador Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Matar.
The council deliberated on recent developments within the Arab region and explored various mechanisms to tackle current regional challenges. The discussions focused on enhancing Arab national security and safeguarding shared strategic interests.
