ALECSO Condemns Attempt to Target Makkah

Tunis: The Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) strongly condemned the attempt to target Makkah, describing it as an infringement on the sanctity of the holiest site in Islam and a violation of its religious, humanitarian, and cultural significance to Muslims worldwide.

According to Saudi Press Agency, in a statement issued from its headquarters in Tunis, ALECSO affirmed its rejection of any act targeting holy sites or threatening the security and safety of civilians. It called for the sanctity and status of holy places to be respected and for such sites to be kept away from tensions and conflicts. The organization said this is a responsibility required by human values and relevant international laws and charters.

ALECSO affirmed its full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and its support for all efforts to protect Makkah and the holy sites and ensure the security and safety of their visitors.
