Al-Qafil Walkway Transformed into Sports and Leisure Hub

Al-makhwah: Al-Makhwah Municipality has completed the development and rehabilitation of a walkway, sports fields, and green spaces in the Al-Qafil neighborhood, covering a total area of approximately 27,000 square meters. This initiative aims to provide a recreational space for residents and visitors while encouraging sports and leisure activities.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the site now features a 500-meter-long walkway and a 500-meter-long track for scooters and bicycles. Sidewalks and pathways, covering 4,000 square meters, facilitate easy movement and access to the site's facilities. The development works include sports fields spanning 3,300 square meters, comprising a football field with artificial turf and a volleyball court, complete with lighting.

The green spaces extend over more than 8,000 square meters and include over 70 trees, with plans for additional planting to enhance green areas and improve the site's appearance. Decorative lighting and separate restrooms for men and women are also part of the development.

Renovations included the walls surrounding the park and walkway, covering approximately 6,000 square meters. These were adorned with natural stone and quartz stone patterns, reflecting the area's architectural style. This project is a significant part of Al-Makhwah Municipality's efforts to enhance public facilities, increase greenery, and provide recreational amenities, thereby improving the governorate's quality of life and attractiveness.
