Al-Khobar Governorate Advances 38 Positions in Smart City Index 2025

Al-Khobar: The International Institute for Management Development (IMD) announced today that Al-Khobar Governorate has advanced 38 positions in the Smart City Index 2025, now ranking 61st globally. This advancement highlights the significant progress made by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in digital transformation and innovation.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Governor of Eastern Region and Chairman of the Sharqia Development Authority Prince Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz affirmed that the advancement of Al-Khobar Governorate in the Smart City Index reflects the ambitious vision of the wise leadership in transforming the Kingdom’s cities into exemplary urban models on a global scale.

Prince Saud added that this progress stems from the collaborative efforts of government and private entities aimed at creating a technologically advanced, economically sustainable, and appealing environment for investment and knowledge. He emphasized his unwavering support for the continuation of this journey and the pursuit of further success.

CEO of the Sharqia Development Authority Omar bin Saleh Al-Abdullatif stated that this achievement showcases the progress the Kingdom has experienced across various sectors, highlighting that the advancement of Al-Khobar Governorate in the Smart City Index showcases its appealing environment for talents and specialists, its ecological variety, and the effectiveness of its fundamental and digital infrastructure.
