Al-jouf: Al-Jouf Region is witnessing notable growth in fig cultivation as farmers increasingly diversify their crops and make use of the region's rich agricultural resources, with fig trees across several farms beginning to bear fruit and farmers closely monitoring the orchards ahead of the upcoming harvest season.
According to Saudi Press Agency, during a field tour, a growing number of farmers are introducing figs alongside the region's traditional crops. They are benefiting from fertile soil and favorable climatic conditions that have supported the success of this promising agricultural venture.
Farmer Fahd Al-Khaldi stated that the shift toward fig cultivation reflects farmers' efforts to diversify agricultural production and maximize the region's farming potential. He noted that the current stages of fruit development point to a strong harvest in the coming weeks.
Fig cultivation, he added, has gained increasing momentum in recent years as farmers continue to capitalize on Al-Jouf's strong agricultural capabilities and support the long-term sustainability of the region's farming sector.
